You’re So Fine You’re so fine, so fine Girl, you drive e wild You’ve got to be mine, all mine Can’t you see it child You knock me to my knees ‘cause you’re so fine You’re so fine, so fine You’re too much to believe You got to be mine, all mine It’s just meant to be Baby don’t you know How I love you so ‘cause you’re so fine I’m gonna give you bear hug Show you what I’m made of Tickle you until you cry Just to see your sweet smile I would walk a country mile Baby, just to make you mine ‘cause you’re so fine

The Wailing Wind Hear the wailing wind Sing its sad sad song Now I have to take it for my own Hear the wailing wind Crying all alone Somewhere it has strength to carry on Can’t you hear me crying Underneath the full moon, trying to carry on Hear the wailing wind Whipping through the hills Roads not taken calling to you still Here the wailing wind Chills you to the bone Leaving you abandoned heart and soul Can’t you hear me screaming Now I know the meaning of its song

Boogie Man 03:23
Boogie Man written by: Donald Ray Fischer On the Jackson Plantation on the Texas Gulf Coast Standing on the lake at midnight you can feel the ghosts Beneath the Spanish moss that hangs from old oaks trees When the wing blows through the ruins you can hear their screams chorus: You can see the devils dancing in the cool moonlight You can see their fires a burning way into the night Don't get to curious, Don't get yourself in a jam When you hear the drums a singing that's the boogie man One Jackson brother killed the other in a horrible fight Chopped off his head into the water on that horrible night And if you're foolish enough to be there way to late You'll see him searching for his head a floating 'cross the lake chorus When that time of year came 'round there'd be a dare To climb the gates under the moon and spend the night out there Amongst the twisting and the turning of the monkey vines We'd wait in silence scared to death of what we'd fine

Young Love 03:50
Young LOve Written by Donald Ray Fischer Shattered glass and roses scattered on the ground Broken promises, love here was not found Hear their hearts they yearn, still to have their day Young love, it dies hard Young love, it dies hard Hear the crowd it roars as you walk away Still, you yearn to hear it as summer turns grey Feel the heart it yearns still to have its day Young love, it dies hard Young love, it dies hard There was magic everywhere There was music in the air Lord, I know there was How it seems so long ago How I hate to let it go Though I know I must Were they fools to think love could light the way Simple children all, I still hear you say Heed their hearts they yearn still to have their day Young love, it dies hard Young love, it dies hard

If Love is Real Written by Doanld Ray Fischer Every little hurt Every little heartache Every little cut Always brings a soul shake But if love is real, It can last a long, long time Every little pin Every little setback Every time it rains It may knock your head back But if love is real, it can last a long, long time Who said it would be easy Who said it would be kind Who said that it’d be roses all the time So cool down babe, let’s stop this hurting thing We’ve still got enough love to make us happy

Buda 03:07
Buda Written by Doanld Ray Fischer Weel there’s nothing as wonderful as new baby child And there’s nothing more beautiful than an innocent smile But this world’s not forgiving and sometime just living Grows hard Well, there’s as gleaming as a new Cadillac And there’s nothing as joyful ass a roll in the back But this world keeps on turning and sometimes love’s burning Burns out It’s a long way to Buda, it’s a long way back home And there’s nothing there for me no more At the corner of This Way and That Way I know Is a hometown that is no more Well, there’s nothing quite like, as the wind in your hair As you roll down the highway, going nowhere But this world keeps on moving and sometimes it leaves You behind

Summer Nights Written by Donald Ray Fischer Spanish moss blowing in the breeze Giant oak trees staring down like kings Throwing shadows on the water as the sun slowly slips away Storm winds blowing in from over the coast You could almost touch the stars, man they felt that close Drinking on the levee, never worried what tomorrow might bring Summer Nights Summer Nights Who thought they would ever end Summer nights filled with laughter How we paid the morning after Never worried what tomorrow might bring Running to the shelter of an old tin barn Listening to the thunder as the rain hits hard Soaked to the bone, as we danced the night away Young girls tempted n the summer heat Bad boys begging for that sweet release Lost in the moment, Not worried what tomorrow might bring Summer Nights Summer Nights Who thought they would ever end Summer nights filled with laughter How we paid the morning after Never worried what tomorrow might bring

Hush Little Angel Written by Donald Ray Fischer Hush little baby, don’t you cry Daddy’s right here, everything’s alright The moon is out, the stars in the sky Rest my baby, close your eyes and go to sleep Knowing I am here Hush little baby, the day is gone Tomorrow will be here before too long Dreams sweet dreams, the sandman’s here Hold my hand I’ll be right here, now go to sleep Knowing I am here Dream Dream Dream little Angel, knowing I am here Hush little angel, don’t you cry Daddy’s gonna sing you a lullaby Something to melt your fears away So you can be ready for another day, now go to sleep Knowing I am here Dream Dream Dream little Angel, knowing I am here

Walk On By 03:40
Walk On By Written by Donald Ray Fischer Baby walk on by Don’t turn and look my way Baby walk on by There’s nothing left to say Baby walk on by if we chance to meet Don’t even say hello if you see me on the street Well, it’s over girl Baby walk on by Everybody’s got a story and you’ve got yours Though it don’t matter no more I tried for oh so long just to make it work And now It’s time that I close that door Well, you lied, you cheated, you played me for a fool You had your fun while you made me cry Well, it’s over now and if you see me on the street Baby walk on by It’s true I loved you baby that’s for sure But mama didn’t raise no fool And that’s what I’d be if I took you back When there’s so many girls who will be true And sometimes baby when you’re all alone Think of me and how you let love slip by Because it’s over now and if you see me on the street Baby walk on by

Gates of Graceland Written by Doanld Ray Fischer I was standing at the gates of the king all alone Feeling his pain and woe Such a gilded cage of fame and gold It made me say a prayer for his soul Just to fly away to his mother’s arms And the peace he’d never known Just to fly away to a better place And the love he yearned for so So many times, he must have wept in pain With no one to understand Even in a crowd to feel so all alone With no one to lend a helping hand Just to fly away from this troubled world To a peace he’d never known Just to fly away where his loved ones wait And the love he yearned for so Well, I heard a voice say take a walk with me Let go and hold on to my hand Leet all your troubles simple fade away And walk with me into the Promise Land Last night I dreamed the angels beckoned me Standing on a stairway of light With voices so sweet the tears they rolled down my cheeks Saying everything will be all right Just to fly away from this troubled world To a peace we’ve never known Just to fly away where our loved ones wait And the love we’ve longed for so

Run Away 02:25
Runaway Written by Donald Ray Fischer I’m loud and abrasive, put my foot in my mouth A little bit shallow and obsessed with myself But is that any reason to close your heart to me I’m constantly changing, but I am what I am And if this all ends tomorrow well it’s worth it my friend So is there any reason to close your heart to me You want to run, run, run away You want to run, run, run away You want to run, run, run away Run away from me Is that any reason I’ve gone where I’m going, but it nowhere I’ve been They say you learn from mistakes, I guess I’m learning again But is that any reason to close your heart to me

For Another 03:02
For Another Written by Donald Ray Fischer Every time we dance so close My heart it breaks in two to know The love that you hold in your soul Is for another The years that I spent as a friend Knowing you’d never let me in Because your love is saved Is for another But tonight, as the music plays I silently hold you close and pray Lost in the dream that someday you’d be mine I see the laughter in your eyes Do you see how my own do cry To Know your lips are saved For another But tonight, as we’re cheek to cheek I stop my heart though it wants to speak The words that you would never want to hear And as we move across the floor I know that I will ever more Be lost because you love’s For another And when you fall into my arms You see I’m helpless to your charms Though I know their meant For another So please be gentle please be kind And maybe the miracle of time Will turn your love to me Not for another

Rattlin' Bones written by Donald Ray Fischer This hot blue steel, that I hold in my hand In a pool of blood lies a dying man Oh mother please won't you weep for me I'm surely damned for all eternity chorus: Woah Woah Woah Woah Hear them rattlin' bones Hey Hey Hey Hey I think it's time we pray Woah Woah Woah Woah Feel the room get cold Hey Hey Hey Hey Must be the judgement day I feel the hand of death it's got me by the neck Oh don't let 'em take me Lord it's not my time yet I know a wasted time is a terrible sin And I'd do it all different Lord if I could do it again They say that spirits hover all around our heads Little bits of soul and memory gathered from our dead I know at times I swear they were 'bout to take shape If it wasn't for my fear and will power that kept them in their graves

about

Doing Time in Hog Heaven is a collection of songs reflecting my Texas roots, recorded at Ron Roger’s Hog Heaven Studio in Burbank California. Thriving in the late 1990’s and the early 2000’s, Hog Heaven was a modest 16 track tape studio, sporting a funky bar, lots of gear, a grand piano and Hammond, and a magic room. There were cats and dogs, epic BBQ’s and jams, great people, and loads of laughter. There were many bands, rehearsals, recording sessions, and so many magic moments. I loved Doing Time in Hog Heaven.
